More than 20 of the top Mustang trainers in the nation have been invited to compete at the 116th annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. The trainers are from across the United States and will compete with their Mustangs January 19-21.
The Mustangs competing in Mustang Magic are all mares between the ages of 4 and 5 and were picked up by their trainers in September. The mares have already created a buzz on the Internet because of their stunning looks. This group of horses includes pintos, roans, duns, palominos and various other colors.
Since the first Extreme Mustang Makeover event was held in 2007, the Mustang Heritage Foundation has facilitated the adoptions of more than 3,000 gentled American Mustangs. In 2012, the Foundation in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management will continue to increase its efforts to raise awareness of adoptions of America's Mustangs. Next year, the Mustang Heritage Foundation will host eight Extreme Mustang Makeover events and travel to new areas in the United States.
The year begins in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo with the invitational Mustang Magic. The magical Mustang mares will be available for adoption following the competition on January 21. In years past, the Mustang Magic competition has played to a capacity crowd at the John Justin arena. This year, the competition has been extended by a day to give the trainers more time to showcase their amazing Mustangs.
Mustang Magic is free with a daily grounds pass admission to the Fort Worth Stock Show. Plus, visitors can see all the other great attractions. From world-class livestock shows to the "Moo-seum" experience, the Show offers an atmosphere rich in culture and diversity.
